Storey`s playing days began at Middlesbrough, later joining Dunfermline Athletic, before injury denied him hopes of a professional career.

He joined then-Conference South side Lewes in 2004 but made the switch to Eastbourne Borough the following year, later returning to the Dripping Pan before signing for Tonbridge Angels in the summer of 2007.

He then had spells with Hastings United, Horsham and Rye United, where he was also joint manager with Marc Gall in 2013/14 before moving to Crawley Down Gatwick, who at the time were in the Isthmian League Division One South.

In January 2014 he took over at Crawley as a joint player-manager with new boss Francis Vines, whom he played under at Basingstoke Town.

He signed for Ringmer in mid-September 2014 and then moved back to Horsham in December 2014 as interim manager before joining Uckfield, where he spent four seasons in charge.

Moving to Saltdean from Uckfield with Storey is Bryan O`Toole and Shaun Loft.
