The
Clarets confirmed that the popular defender will be retained and will continue
in the captaincy role as manager, Robbie Simpson, continues to reshape the
Melbourne Community Stadium outfit.
The
player, who is now in his second spell at the club, has made almost 200
appearances since initially signing in 2012.
Church
told www.chelmsfordcityfc.com: “I am very biased and happy to play for the best
non-league club for next season. It’s a different feeling being under a new
management team.
“There
will be a different way of working, which I am looking to fully embrace. It
brings a lot of excitement which can hopefully help building a cohesive group
with a shared common goal.
“It
is always a privilege to be asked to captain a team and I would never take this
role for granted.
“It
gives me an acknowledgement of the way I have tried to conduct myself
previously. I will continue to do my best to unite a new group of players and
deliver what is asked on and off the pitch”. |
