Conneely took over alongside Neil Collett in April 2019 following the departure of Darren Dickson. But he was left on his own when Collett decided to leave in January to spend more time with his family.

Conneely was brought in by Dickson, having previously managed Copsewood Ladies, who became Nuneaton Town before they folded, and then, in June 2018, with Rugby Borough where he became part of the management team with Darren Tank.
