Hallam finished third under Whitehead in the 2018/19 season and were eighth in the table when the 2019/20 campaign came to a premature end in March.

Denton quit as manager of NCEL Premier Division side Barton Town, giving `work commitments` as his reason for leaving.

Denton has a proven track record of success and shares Hallam`s aspiration to build upon the great foundations they have in place to push the club forward.

He will have the support of joint/assistant managers Rob Poulter and Wayne Thompson, first team coach Ryan Hopkinson and goalkeeping coach James Humphreys.

Dentons told http://www.hallamfc.co.uk: “I am delighted to join Hallam as their manager.

“This historic club has a vast history but also a firm foundation in the community and a family friendly ethos.

“My work and personal circumstances have changed, with the fantastic news that we are expecting and change of role and work location. However, when the call came from Hallam, a club in my home city, it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

“I am excited to see where we can take the club

“Hallam has a fantastic set-up both on and off the pitch. It is an extremely well run and well managed set up behind the scenes with a very supportive chairman and committee and something that I really want to be part of.

“I have put together a fantastic team to support me and I am looking forward to improving on the great set up already in place at Hallam and I am excited to see where we can take the club. I look forward to getting started on the preparations for the new season with my team and look forward to seeing everyone up at Sandygate”.
