Short and Sam Squire and goalkeeper Finlay Shorten.
Parker (pictured),

spell.
The
fan favourite returned to Bloomfields, where he holds the club record for the
most goals in a season when he notched 40 back in 2010/11, from King`s Lynn
Town.
He
made over 250 appearances for the Marketmen in total, scoring 120 goals.
He
joined Lynn in June 2017 from AFC Sudbury, making a total of 94 appearances and
scoring 19 goals.
After
leaving Needham Market in 2011, he joined Chelmsford City and, after spending
the majority of the 2012/13 season on loan with Bury Town, signed for Leiston
in 2014 and then spent a couple of seasons with Sudbury ahead of his switch to
Lynn.
Thirty-four-year-old
Diogo signed for Needham Market in September 2019 from Greek Super League side
Levadiakos, where he made 23 appearances.
He
was born in Lisbon but is of São Tomé and Príncipe – an island country in the
Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Central Africa descent and
he received his first international cap in October 2015 in a 2018 FIFA World
Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.
He
started his career with Benfica is a youth and also had spells with fellow
Portuguese sides Olivias Sul, Casa Pia, Alverca and Carregedo before moving to
England in 2005 and turning out for Chelmsford City.
He
then had a couple of seasons in the Isthmian League with Lewes and Aveley
before returning on his travels with Icelandic outfit KR Reykjavik, Greek sides
Panachiaki and Panthrakikos, back to Portugal with Vitoria Setubal and then
back over to Greece with Kerkyra and then, from 2018, Levadiakos.
Short
signed for the Marketmen in February 2019. A versatile player in both defence
and midfield, he gives many options.
Was
previously on the books at Bury Town, Biggleswade Town and St Neots Town.
Squire
is a 20-year-old who signed for Needham Market on a permanent basis in June
2019 after being released by Cambridge United.
He
spent 2018/19 on a season-long loan with the Marketmen from the League Two
outfit and made 38 appearances.
He
contributed towards Cambridge City’s strong run at the end of the 2017/18
season, in which they lost in the Southern League Division One East play-off
final whilst on loan.
Young
goalkeeper Shorten is a product of the youth academy.
He
made 6 first team appearances last season.
Manager
Kevin told secretary Mark Easlea: "It is never nice having to be the
bearer of bad news but unfortunately this is football and the lads understood
my reasons for their departure and I thanked them for their efforts for the
club and wished them all the best for the future as they all left on good terms."
In
addition to the list of players leaving the club, physiotherapist James Smith
has also departed Bloomfields. |
