The 34-year-old left-back, who was originally with Northampton Town, joins Avenue after four years with new Yorkshire league rivals Guiseley AFC.

He was a mainstay of the Lions side that gained promotion to the National League in 2015 after signing from FC Halifax Town in 2014 and was a favourite of the supporters.

Known as a dependable player, he ensured that Guiseley remained in non-League football’s top flight with a last-gasp equaliser against Solihull Moors on the final day of the 2016/17 season, but, after 86 appearances, left last month after the Lions did suffer the drop.

Lowe re-unites with manager Mark Bower at the Horsfall Stadium – Bower having managed him at Nethermoor.
