Former
player Steve Hutchinson will be very familiar with Choughs` supporters after
playing 28 games over two seasons, most coming in the 2017/18 campaign, scoring
6 goals.
More
recently he has been managing Northern Premier League Premier Division outfit
Gainsborough Trinity`s reserve side where he led them to third place in the
Lincolnshire League last season before the campaign was expunged.
Hutchinson
told the club`s website: “Recently I have had a lot of time to reflect on last
season and what I need to do to progress my management and coaching career.
However, what I will say first, for all players who thinks it’s easy to make
the transition player to manager, trust me it’s not.
“On
reflection I felt it was best to step aside looking for a number two role and
learn the coach/manager trade little further and absorb some experiences from
others.”
“After
a very short discussion with Woody in regards an opportunity to re-join Retford
as assistant manager, I jumped at the opportunity to come back. I’m excited to
get going whenever that may be, and I hope to see many familiar and new faces
down at the The Rail to support the team in the new season”. |
