Turkington
joined Farnham having guided Sandhurst Town to eighth and fourth place finishes
in two seasons in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East and enjoying a
brief run in the Buildbase FA Vase where they were knocked out in the First
Round by Plymouth Parkway.
Turkington
led Farnham to the brink of promotion to the Premier Division before the
premature end to the season due to Covid-19.
He
issued a statement saying: “It`s with a heavy heart I have decided to leave
Farnham Town.
“It`s
no secret that my ambition is to improve and gain higher levels of football and
having positioned the club in 2019/20 to a likely promotion, it has
unfortunately been cruelly taken away from us all.
“I
am thankful to everyone at the club and I am very proud to have been part of
Farnham Town FC. However, the time has now come for me to challenge myself further
in my managerial career and regretfully, had the outcome and circumstances been
different, I would have no reason to move on. It`s a shame the FA have taken
the path they have, which has forced my hand to look higher, to where we should
be as a club”. |
