Priestley joins the Blues on a one-year deal, signing a contract under strict social distancing guidelines to become Lynch’s first recruit since replacing Phil Brown as manager last weekend.

The experienced centre-back joined NPL Premier Division side Buxton in August 2019 from Southport.

Born in Burnley, he started his career at Accrington Stanley and has also gone on to play for Colne, Ramsbottom United, Bradford Park Avenue, where he made 61 appearances, Salford City and Alfreton Town.

He signed for Southport in December 2017 and he made 22 appearances for the Port but spent a large part of the season on loan with FC United of Manchester.
