Thirty-two-year-old Adam Jones is an experienced and commanding central defender who joins the Lilywhites from league rivals Glossop North End.

Jones began his career in Stalybridge Celtic's academy as an 18-year-old before signing for Curzon Ashton where he played for four seasons.

He joined FC United of Manchester in 2010 and went on to make 107 appearances over three seasons, scoring 19 goals also winning two player of the year awards, helping the Rebels to two successive play-off finals.

After a six-month spell at Nantwich Town, Jones joined Hyde United in 2015.

Over two seasons, he made 42 appearances and scored twice with a spell at Shaw Lane AFC sandwiched between.

Since 2016 he has had further spells with Stalybridge Celtic, Trafford, Hyde and Glossop.

Also joining from Glossop for his fourth spell with Mossley is the versatile Ben Richardson.

The 29-year-old was originally signed by Chris Willcock in January 2009 from Stalybridge Celtic and won the Mossleyweb player of the year award that season.

He was then re-signed by Gareth McClelland in November 2011 after a spell with Woodley Sports.

He then had spells with Curzon Ashton and Ashton United before re-signing for the Lilywhites for the third time in January 2014 and has since had two spells with Glossop with a brief time at Ramsbottom United sandwiched between.

Goalkeeper Marcus Burgess, 22, has arrived from another league rival, Prescot Cables.

Burgess made his debut for Skelmersdale United at 16 years old and after a spell on Everton's books, he signed for Salford City and had loan spells with Burscough, Bamber Bridge and Prescot.

He signed for Cables permanently in 2016 and had a loan spell with Hallmark Security League side Padiham late last season.

Burgess has won representative honours for England Colleges and England Universities.

Meanwhile, following the departure to Buxton of former Lilywhites skipper Tom Dean, Mossley announced that their captain for the 2018/19 season will be Andy Keogh.

The 30-year-old is in his third spell with the club and is a strong and skilful attacking midfielder or forward who was re-signed in February 2018 having returned from a twelve-month spell with Trafford.
