After
a year away from Ashby Avenue and playing at Total Motion Midland League
Premier Division side Newark Flowserve, Cotton has decided to re-join the
whites.
Coinciding
with Sam Wilkinson being re-appointed as the Whites' first team manager,
talented Cotton returns to his local club which saw him put in some fantastic
displays.
Prior
to joining Newark, Cotton finished as Lincoln's top scorer as well as picking
up individual awards for the 2018/19 season.
The
sought-after number 10 would have been high on many club's target list, and Wilkinson
told the club`s website: "I'm really pleased we've verbally agreed a deal
to bring Cotton back to the club. On his day he's unplayable, he has so much
technical ability and class about his play but, what stands out even more so,
his undoubted work rate and energy every game.
“During
my first spell as manager, Cotts always produced in the big games; his last
minute winner in the County Cup final against Stamford, his goal against
Nuneaton in our fantastic FA Cup run and a goal of huge importance at the time
against Marske.
“He's
another local lad who wants to be at Lincoln United, he'll be a key player for
us, enabling us to gradually progress. He's still very young but has a lot of
experience at this level and so I know he'll bring leadership both on and off
the pitch. He's a top signing and I can't wait to see him in a Lincoln United
shirt again”. |
