It
capped off a fantastic week for the club after the Nottinghamshire outfit won a
£25,000 share of the Buildbase £100,000 competition for community projects.
Gatter
is a utility
player who joined Southern League Premier Division Central side Hednesford Town
on a permanent deal in June 2018 from Basford`s league rivals Gainsborough
Trinity.
The
22-year-old started his career as a junior at Burton Albion, coming through the
Brewers' system and enjoying loan spells with Belper Town, Spalding United and
Boston United.
He
joined Gainsborough in May 2017 upon his release by the Brewers and had spells
on loan with Coalville Town and the Pitmen.
Twenty-year-old
goalkeeper Pierrepont joins Basford from East Midlands Counties League side
Heanor Town on a three-year deal.
The
6' 3" Pierrepont is viewed as one of the best young prospects at his age
in the East Midlands.
He
represented Matlock Town's first team at 17, was involved at Chesterfield as a
youngster and was most recently tracked by Sheffield Wednesday.
He
kept eleven clean sheets for Heanor last season.
Basford
manager Steve Chettle told the club`s website: “It has been a fantastic week
for the football club; winning the Buildbase materials and planning for the
extension for the clubhouse in order to provide a new facility for the
community to use.
"We
have been working hard to put in the next pieces to our jig-saw and getting the
players that we have been looking at for some time. We welcome Charlie and
Jordan to Basford and will hopefully be able to integrate them into the squad
for pre-season training at the end of the month if Government guidelines allow.
"Adding
Charlie strengthens our defensive unit, and adding a goalkeeper gives us
strength in depth in that position and someone to work hard with Kieran Preston
and push him all the way through pre-season". |
