Ringmer withdrew from the Southern Combination League in March 2018 due to escalating running costs.

AFC Ringmer moved into Ringmer`s ground at the start of the 2018/19 season.

The clubs issued a joint statement which outlined where the new club will operate in the leagues system.

It said: "Following the ongoing collaboration between Ringmer Football Club and AFC Ringmer over the past few years, with the imminent completion of the new clubhouse and 3G pitch at the Kings Academy we have now effectively completed a merger between the two clubs and as such adopted Ringmer AFC as the new club title.

"The new club badge incorporates the wind turbine that overlooks the new ground, the dates that Ringmer FC and AFC Ringmer were formed, together with 2020 to signify the unification of the two clubs.

"Ringmer AFC will operate three senior sides and a veterans side in the Mid-Sussex League for 2020/21 alongside a newly-formed under-18 side and women's side”.
