Forward
Frankie Merrifield and midfielder Ben Marlow have both returned to the Blues
from league rivals East Thurrock United.
Merrifield (pictured),
26, joined the Rocks in June 2019 from Isthmian League North side Canvey
Island.
He
had originally signed for Canvey Island on a dual registration from East
Thurrock`s former National League South rivals Chelmsford City in December 2016
before becoming a permanent member of the squad.
He
began his career with AFC Wimbledon in 2011, playing 5 times in the Football
League before joining Hayes & Yeading United in 2013.
He
had his first spell with Bishop's Stortford in October 2014 and followed
manager Rod Stringer to Chelmsford in May 2016.
He
scored 17 goals in 37 appearances in 2019/20 for East Thurrock before the
season ended prematurely.
Marlow,
24, is a highly rated midfielder who graduated through the West Ham United
youth ranks before joining Canvey Island, Bishop`s Stortford and then home-town
club Chelmsford City in 2015.
He
signed for East Thurrock in February 2016 and was influential in the final
stages of the promotion-winning season and was also a virtual ever-present in
the 2018/19 relegation season from the National League South.
He
made 86 appearances and scored 11 goals in total for the Rocks. |
