The youngster signed his first professional deal with the Hornets in 2016 having been part of the club's youth set-up for eight years.

Stevens was an integral part of the Hornets' title-winning under-18 side in 2015/16, going on to feature regularly for the under-23s before an injury brought his season to an end.

Stevens, 20, spent much of last season on loan from the Hornets at National League rivals Oxford City where he gained valuable Step 2 experience, mainly as a centre-half.

Stones manager Bobby Wilkinson told the club`s Nick Dugard: “Connor has done exceptionally well in pre-season in a key area for us and the opportunity arose to sign him as we look to finalise the squad”.
