The
experienced 35-year-old Russell (pictured) joins Taddy from NPL Premier Division side
Gainsborough Trinity, where he was in his second spell.
A
fan favourite, the midfielder re-joined Trinity in January 2018 from North
Ferriby United.
Originally
on the books at Hull City, he went on to play 134 times for Kidderminster
Harriers.
Spells
with York City, Cambridge United, Lincoln City and Alfreton Town followed
before he joined Trinity for the first time in 2013.
Marko
Basic has left league rivals Ossett United to join Taddy which is closer to
where he attends university.
The
20-year-old tricky attacking midfielder of Serbian decent, was born in Bingley
and whilst playing Sunday League football was asked to trial at Bradford City.
It
was there that he caught the eye of Vanarama National League side FC Halifax
Town and was offered an eighteen-month scholarship.
He
was part of their under-19 squad which lifted the Football Conference Youth
Alliance Trophy in 2017.
A
one-year deal with the Shaymen followed during which he spent a few months on
loan to Taddy`s league rivals Mossley AFC.
With
a change of management, Basic was released at the end of the season and signed
a two-year contract at Ossett United where he became a firm favourite.
The
third arrival is Ify Ofoegbu, who can play on either wing, up front or in
midfield.
He
came to England from Nigeria when he was four years old and now lives in
Sheffield.
His
footballing career can be traced back to Huddersfield Town’s under-16s after he
was `discovered` by Tadcaster`s assistant manager Steve Waide, when he taught
PT at the South Leeds Academy and the two have kept in touch since.
From
there he joined Chesterfield and made his senior debut against Accrington
Stanley in October 2016 when he was just 16 – becoming the fifth youngest
player ever to play in the Spireites first team.
He
signed a one-year’s contract with Chesterfield in 2018 and in all made 5
appearances for the first team.
He
missed much of 2019/20 due to injury but had a few outings with Sheffield &
Hallamshire County League side Wakefield AFC earlier this year. |
