....Elliot Newby to Vanarama National League North rivals Chorley.

Newby has proven to be a popular figure at Telford, who are hugely disappointed to lose the 22-year-old midfielder.

The management team and club went above and beyond in order to convince him to stay to no avail as he wished to ply his trade closer to home.

Originally part of the youth set-up at Bolton Wanderers, Newby moved to home-town club Barrow AFC on his release from the Trotters, playing 14 games over two seasons while also spending time on loan at Burscough and Altrincham.

He joined AFC Telford last summer, going on to make nearly 40 appearances, scoring 7 goals and winning the player of the year award with The Bucks.

He links up at Victory Park with twin brother Alex.
