Centre-back Rob Gillman - a man who has captained pretty much every club he’s ever represented – joins from league rivals Lordwood, for whom he made 36 appearances in 2019/20.

He was formerly with Luton Town, Bishop`s Stortford, Bromley, Dover Athletic, Thurrock, Greenwich Borough and Whitstable Town.

Another new signing named by the Boots is Jacob Kalonda.

The ex-Fisher, Bridon Ropes and Erith & Belvedere man is well-known in the SCEL and is sure to net plenty of goals for his new club.

Returning to Welling is goalkeeper Jack Moore.

Moore had spent the last couple of months of the last campaign with league rivals Glebe following his departure from the Boots in January.

During his previous two-and-a-half-year with the club he won many accolades, both individually and as part of the team.

Pretty much an ever-present since arriving, he helped them win two promotions in successive years – the 2017/18 Kent County League Division Two West title and the SCEL First Division in 2018/19.

He was also a Cup holder on a few occasions in his previous spell too as Welling defended the West Kent Challenge Shield and the Kent Junior Cup during a 21-month unbeaten spell.

Individually, Moore won just as much with a call-up to the Kent County Rep side, two player of the year awards and a managers`player of the year award.

He is also the club record appearance holder with 92 league and cup games under his belt, yet he is still better known for playing as a centre-back for a Sunday League side!
