Norfolk first moved to Victory Road in 2010 and had nearly three seasons with the Blues before moving on to work at league rivals Needham Market and most recently, Isthmian League North side AFC Sudbury.

A midfielder in his playing days, Norfolk made 4 appearances for Ipswich Town, making his debut against Southampton in the Premier League in February 1995. He went on to play for Cambridge City and Kings Lynn Town before making 268 appearances at AFC Sudbury between 1999 and 2005, netting 55 times. He also went on to play for Halstead Town, Needham Market and Diss Town.

As previously mentioned, Norfolk first joined the Blues in the summer of 2010 as a member of Mark Morsley’s backroom staff with Leiston clinching the Thurlow Nunn League Premier and the Isthmian North title two seasons in a row.

He was caretaker manager for a while after Morsley resigned in February 2013.

Norfolk told https://www.leistonfc.co.uk: “I’m delighted to take up the role as first team coach at Leiston FC’, Lee said earlier. ‘The chance to work with Darren (Eadie) and Chris (Wigger) and return to one of the areas elite clubs was too good an opportunity to miss and i like the vision they have for the club and the way they want to move it forward again.

I was lucky enough to have experienced success here and have always had a good relationship with everyone involved with the club and fans. I have been able to reset and I feel this is the right decision at the right time and I am now looking forward to getting back out on the grass with the players, and being competitive on Saturdays again at a very good level of football. Im excited for the start of the season, and we are already preparing for whenever that may be.

“I’d like to thank Darren, Chris, Dave Williams and the chairman Andy Crisp for making this happen, and for the warm welcome back”.
