Manager Steve Claridge has snapped up young midfielder Dom Jefferies after his somewhat surprise release by SkyBet League Two side Newport County.

The 17-year-old, who made one senior appearance for the Exiles in an EFL Trophy tie against West Ham United under-23s in September 2019, spent a month on loan with Salisbury in 2019/20, making 2 appearances and scoring one goal before being re-called by County.

Also joining the Whites is 27-year-old defender Jack Ball from league rivals Hartley Wintney.

Ball (pictured) was with Hartley Wintney`s join boss Anthony Millerick at Cove a few years ago.

He then moved to America where he studied at university and also played for the Le Moyne Dolphins who won the State championships twice in a row.

Ball, who can play up front but is renowned as a solid centre-half, made 19 league appearances in 2019/20 and scored 2 goals.
