.....Northern Premier League East club on a more permanent basis for the 2018/19 season.
Barkworth joined on loan from SkyBet Championship side Hull City back in March and made seven appearances in the Brewers` play-off chase.
The deadline day signing featured at right-back and centre-back for Taddy but started his career as a box-to-box midfielder.
He made one senior appearance for Hull, coming on as substitutes under former boss Leonid Slutsky in the 2-0 loss to Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup last season.
But he was one of four young players released by the Tigers in May.
However, Barkworth returned to pre-season training on Monday night and is raring to get going once again.
“It was an easy decision for me,” he told the club`s website. “I wanted to be at a club that is going places and moving forward, Tadcaster is definitely doing that.
“I obviously had a taste of it last season and it’s a really great club all round.
“I can’t wait to get started properly, get some game-time and hopefully go one step further than last season and achieve promotion.”
Tadcaster boss Michael Morton feels Ellis will go from strength to strength across the course of the campaign: “Ellis has got a great attitude and has come back looking very sharp so hopefully after a full pre-season he can really start to kick on with us”. |
