Stubbs is a midfielder who started his career as a member of Ebbsfleet United’s youth ranks before his first taste of Isthmian League football for Whitstable back in 2007.

He then signed for Margate and has had a couple of spells at Maidstone United, including being part of their Isthmian Division One South play-off winners’ squad.

Stubbs, who has also played for KA Akureyri in Iceland’s second tier, has since had spells at Dover Athletic and Hythe Town and last season helped K Sports win promotion to the Southern Counties East League Premier Division.

Meanwhile, two members of the Whitstable management team will not be returning to the club for the forthcoming season, with Brendon Cass and Dean Ruddy both leaving due to work commitments.

Porter has appointed Darren Anslow as his new first-team coach and Mark Lane now becomes assistant-manager and goalkeeping coach, whilst Bob Reardon also remains a key part of the management team.
