New Keeper for Pikes
Goalkeeper Sam Riches has joined Northern Premier League Division One North West club Pickering Town from Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Barton Town.

A former Scunthorpe United academy player, he Initially joined Barton Town on loan during the 2017/18 season.

 

He picked up the player of the year award for the stunning saves he made and his role in the Swans 14-match unbeaten run to secure safety.

 

He returned for a second spell in January 2019 and again saw out the season with the Swans.

 

After a brief spell at Goole AFC last season, he returned to Barton as their number one.

 

Pickering manager Steve Roberts told https://www.pickeringtownfc.teamexpert.co.uk: "I am delighted to welcome Sam to Pickering Town. He's and ex Scunthorpe United Academy player and most recently Barton Town, he is an excellent shot stopper who's distribution is also to a very high standard. At 19 he will only get stronger and I am really excited to be working with him".
