Wright, 21, is a full-back who made his debut at the age of 16 for the Bantams against Morecambe in the EFL Trophy.

He was released at the end of last season and Town manager Vill Powell was alerted by a relative of Wright's.

"Sam is a tall, strong and athletic type who will be a great acquisition for us and has already settled in well at his new surroundings," Powell told the Brighouse News. "After three sessions the players are looking good and we have numbers pushing for places come Tuesday with upwards of thirty being put through their paces. Last season's vice-captain Tom Haigh, who I feel has a great future in the game, is looking particularly sharp".
