Hipwell
joins the club from Southern League Division One Central side Yaxley where he
was also first-team coach.
Hipwell's
playing career started at Cambridge United before he went onto to spend four
years at Soham Town Rangers.
After
leaving Soham he went onto play for Yaxley and Wisbech Town with a brief stint
at Rushden & Diamonds.
Unfortunately,
a knee injury forced him to retire from playing at the age of 27 and he joined
the coaching staff at the Daniels` league rivals Wisbech Town before joining
Yaxley.
Hipwell
told the club`s website: “When Graham contacted me about the possibility of
joining Stamford. It was something that I just couldn’t turn down. I was really
impressed with how professional Graham was, his ambitions and I am excited
about the ambition of the club. The facilities speak for themselves and I can’t
wait to get started. I am really relishing the challenge of helping the club
achieve its ambition of gaining promotion to Step 3.
“From
looking at the league, I think it will be a stronger one than last season as it
seems slot of teams have strengthened but we are confident with the squad that
Graham has assembled that the group can make a tremendous effort in taking the
club to the next level”. |
