Leighton Bring in Two New Signings

Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division club Leighton Town have announced the signing of Connor Calcutt and defender Joe Fitzgerald.

Calcutt (pictured) is an experienced 26-year-old forward who joined Southern League Division One Central side Bedford Town in November 2019 from Southern Premier Division South outfit Hendon.

He had been with the Greens since October 2018 when he joined from Farnborough.

He began his career at Hemel Hempstead Town and then Berkhamsted, and has also played for St Albans City, Stevenage, Wealdstone, Dunstable Town and Barton Rovers.

Tenacious, tough-tackling Fitzgerald moves to Bell Close from league rivals Aylesbury Vale Dynamos.

He progressed from the Hemel Hempstead academy into their first-team squad, making a handful of senior appearances.

He moved to Aylesbury FC played over 50 games for the Moles before spending 18 months at Tring Athletic, re-joining the now-named Aylesbury Vale Dynamos in 2019.
