Brian Smikle, Ben Bradshaw, Kaylum Mitchell, Kyle Batchelor, George Clark, Liam Kavanagh, Ryan King and Louis Briscoe have all put pen-to-paper to join Carl Abbott`s squad.

Smikle re-joins Abbott having played under him at Southern League Division One South side Evesham United, who he signed for last summer.

The 34-year-old forward started his career with West Bromwich Albion and went on to have spells with Kidderminster Harriers and Cheltenham Town, who he helped to the League Two play-off final at Wembley in 2011.

Moves to Hereford United, Altrincham and Stourbridge followed before he signed for Rushall Olympic in February 2017.

He moved to Sutton Coldfield Town the following July and then joined Evesham in June 2019.

Bradshaw is a talented young midfielder who joins Rovers after spells last season in the Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division with Quorn and then Rugby Town.

The 19-year-old midfielder joined Quorn in the summer of 2019 from Kettering Town where he came through the youth ranks making his league debut at just 17.

Bradshaw spent the previous season on loan with Corby Town where he scored 4 goals in 27 appearances.

A former England under-18 international, he also had a trial at Premier League AFC Bournemouth.

Mitchell is a winger who joins from league rivals Walsall Wood.

He can operate anywhere down the right-hand side and has plenty of pace.

He has played at Step 3 and 4 level with the likes of Carlton Town, Redditch United and Stratford Town.

Batchelor is a powerhouse of a player who Abbott has enticed back to The Moat having moved away to league rivals Walsall Wood last season.

He originally joined the Moatmen from National League side Solihull Moors, where he progressed through the academy.

Clark is a young defender who joins Gresley on a season-long loan deal from SkyBet League Two side Cheltenham Town.

He is a second-year scholar at Whaddon Road and is highly regarded by the Robins, who picked him up from Southern League Premier Division Central outfit Alvechurch.

Kavanagh is a technically good central midfielder or full-back who has gained good experience at higher levels.

He played in the Vanarama National League with Tamworth and in the Southern League Premier Division Central for Coalville Town.

He has been out of the game for a couple of seasons but is now raring to go again.

King is a lively, tricky winger who returns to The Moat having originally broken through from the youth and reserve ranks.

He was enticed away to play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division with Matlock Town before ending last season in the Midland League with neighbours Stapenhill.

He had an excellent season with the Division One outfit, scoring 19 goals before lockdown.

Perhaps the best-known of Gresley`s new recruits is experienced centre-forward Louis Briscoe (pictured).

The 32-year-old joins from Northern Premier League Premier Division side Stafford Rangers, who he re-joined in the summer of 2018 from Tamworth.

He had previously played a couple of games for Rangers in 2008 in what was to be a brief stop between clubs.

He began his career with Port Vale before joining Leek Town.

He drifted through a handful of clubs in the area before finally settling at Mansfield Town where he made a name for himself, helping the Stags to the FA Trophy Final in 2011 and the Conference title in 2013 as well as playing for England C.

He had a year and a half at Torquay United before joining Wrexham and then Tamworth in July 2016.

He re-joined Stafford for a second time in June 2017 and then left in January 2018 for Sutton Coldfield Town but made a return in the summer of 2018 after a brief stop off at Mickleover Sports.
