Humphrey (pictured) played for Shrewsbury Town, Preston North End and Bury, making over 200 Football League appearances, and Motherwell and Hibernian in the Scottish League, adding a further 150 games.

He has also managed Gretna and represented Jamaica at international level on 12 occasions.

He was playing in the Lowland League for Kelty Hearts before lockdown.

As well as the appointment of Humphrey, the Mintcakes have also announced the signings of goalkeeper Luke Camacho Lopez and wing back J'Nai Butterfield-Steede.

Camacho is an 18-year-old keeper who was previously with Old Actonians, Westway and the development teams of both Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers.

Butterfield-Steede is a left wing-back who was with Vanarama National League North side Kidderminster Harriers playing mostly for their under-23 side in 2019/20.

A Bermuda under-17 international, the 22-year-old has also been on the books at Ilkeston Town and Brackley Town and trialled with Queens Park Rangers.
