The Board were impressed with the plans that Davies has for the team, and he really impressed us throughout his interview.

His passion and determination really shone through and we would like to welcome him back to the club where he started out as a youth player with Kevin Jones, as the new first team manager.

At 31 years old, he is a young and ambitious coach, with coaching experience across the UK as well as abroad.

Davies has most recently been a first-team coach with league rivals Widnes having re-located back to Prescot and currently is employed as an academy coach with Premier League champions Liverpool.
