The
26-year-old made the reverse journey in June 2019, having made 23
appearances, scoring one goal during his time at Edgar Street.
A
good all-rounder, Cane is known for his box-to-box ability.
Exeter-born,
he joined his home-town club at the age of 8. He progressed through the ranks
and signed a two-year professional contract in 2012.
He
made his senior debut in September 2012 against Wycombe and in March 2013, he
went out on loan to Poole Town, where he made 15 appearances and scored 2 goals
as the Dolphins won the Southern Division One South & West title.
In
September 2013, he returned for a second loan spell at Poole, then in the
Southern Premier, on a one-month loan and made 7 appearances.
In
March 2014, he was out on loan again as he joined then-Southern Premier outfit
Weymouth, where he made 9 appearances before heading back to the Grecians,
while he was then released at the end of his contract in the summer of 2014.
He
joined Weston permanently in that same summer and was made skipper.
