David
Brown, James Cadman, Piteu Crouz, Bailey Gooda and Flynn McNaughton have all
checked into the Flamingo Land Stadium.
Brown
is an experienced 31-year-old forward who has also joined Boro`s coaching
staff.
He
returns to Boro for a third spell on the Yorkshire Coast, his first was in Boro
promotion side from the Northern Counties East League.
He
started his career with Leeds United but left for Nottingham Forest in 2007
without breaking into the Whites` senior side.
He
had a loan spell with Eastwood Town whilst on Forest`s books and left the City
Ground in 2008 for Bradford City also without making the first team.
He
played 5 games for the Bantams and then went into non-League football with
spells at Guiseley AFC, Halifax Town, then in the NPL, Eastwood, Garforth Town,
Ossett Town and, more recently, Hyde United.
He
also coaches at Bradford City.
Cadman
is a wide player or central midfielder who returns from league rivals Mickleover.
The
24-year-old joined the Derbyshire outfit after they fought off higher
competition to sign him in June 2019.
He
started out at Rotherham United. When
his contract expired at Rotherham, he went on to play for Stalybridge Celtic,
Harrogate Town, Hyde United and Scarborough where he won promotion to the NPL
Premier Division at the end of the 2017/18 season.
Crouz
is a 23-year-old midfielder who joined Boro`s rivals Matlock Town in May 2019
from NPL Division One East neighbours Belper Town.
He
learnt his trade at Leeds United before moving to Campion amongst others.
Before
his arrival at Belper, he was plying his trade for Goole AFC.
Gooda (pictured) is a 23-year-old central defender who is another to return to Boro.
He
also signed for Matlock in September 2019 from rivals Hyde United, who he had
joined in June 2019 from Scarborough.
He
initially joined Scarborough on a month`s loan from then-Vanarama National
League North side Harrogate Town in December 2017.
This
was extended by another month in January 2018, before becoming permanent in the
summer of 2018.
He
spent much of the 2016/17 season with Frickley Athletic in the NPL Premier
Division, before heading to the CNG Stadium in August 2017.
He
also returned to Frickley to spend a month on loan at the start of the 2018/19
season. He re-joined Scarborough again in July 2020.
McNaughton
is a 20-year-old forward who originally signed for Scarborough in January 2019
from National League North side York City and then moved to NPL Division One
North West neighbours Pickering Town in August 2019.
He
earned a professional contract with the Minstermen in May 2018 after
progressing through their youth system. However, after suffering a long-term
injury, York decided to release him.
He
was top scorer for both the reserves and under-18s in 2017/18 before making the
step up to the first team.
He
played for the Scarborough youth setup prior to signing for York and followed
his father, Mike, in playing in Scarborough colours. |
