Gayle, 25, is a centre-back who started his career at Dagenham & Redbridge in 2010, he made 10 appearances in League Two and had loan spells at St Neots Town, Grays Athletic, Kingstonian, Histon, Whitehawk, St Albans City, Bishop's Stortford and Welling United.
In 2016 he joined Braintree Town, making 22 appearances in the Vanarama National League. At the start of last season, he joined Welling United in the National League South, before signing for Wealdstone in January.
Gayle told the club`s official website: "I know Alan Dowson quite well as I used to play for him. He approached me, this is a big club, big opportunities. I like Dowsey's style, he's a very passionate manager."
Dowson added: "I've known him a long time, he came to me a few years ago when he was a young kid at Dagenham, I think we need his pace and his power in the squad. There was a couple of clubs that came in for him, so we're delighted to get him.
“I saw him play last season against Hampton & Richmond, he did very well, and I went to see him play at Havant & Waterlooville and thought he was excellent. I just think we need a bit of pace and power in the side, plus a lad who's played Football League games and got experience at this level". |
