Eddie led Denbigh to their highest ever position in Welsh football last season ass they finshed runners up in the Huws Gray Alliance

The Denbigh website issued the following statement

"After an excellent season at the helm of Denbigh Town FC manager Eddie Maurice-Jones has informed the club that he is stepping down.

Eddie came in last season and quickly set to work steering the team through a reconstruction process that ensured the club remained in the Huws Gray Alliance League. This process continued and after a poor start in the league at the beginning of the 2017 - 2018 campaign the team gradually began to improve. This steady climb continued right to the end until Denbigh Town FC finished in the Runners Up position which is the highest the club has ever finished in the Welsh pyramid system - a fabulous achievement which has brought much pride to the club and the people of Denbigh.

This success has, inevitably, attracted the attention of a number of clubs and Eddie has decided the time is right for him to leave.

We would like to thank Eddie for all he has done for the club and he leaves with our best wishes".

Eddie had this to say " I would like to thank everyone for welcoming me to Denbigh Town, supporting me through some tough times and giving me the opportunity to manage your great club. I can honestly say it has been a tough week and a decision I have not taken lightly but the opportunity before me is one I cannot miss. I hope you can see to support and understand my position. I have gained some great friendships with you all and wish you all the very best in the future."

Denbigh Town will now advertise for the vacant position of Team Manager
