The striker joins Pools on a permanent deal from Norwich City, relegated from the Premier League, after spending last season on loan with SkyBet League Two side Crawley Town.

Known for his physicality and agility, Bloomfield came through the Dagenham & Redbridge academy and made a League Two appearance whilst aged 17.

He later had loan spells at Chatham Town, Erith & Belvedere, Maldon & Tiptree, Chelmsford City, Billericay Town, Grays, Witham Town, Brentwood and Aveley (twice) before returning to the Dagenham first team.

He made 28 appearances for Dagenham scoring 3 goals.

After signing for Norwich in the summer of 2018 it was announced that Bloomfield would be joining Scottish side Hamilton Academical on loan for the 2018/19 season.

After his loan spell was cut short, he immediately joined AFC Fylde under Pools` current manager Dave Challinor on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season. However, a broken wrist ended his season early,

On 31st May 2019, he joined League Two side Crawley on a season long loan. He scored four goals in 23 games for Crawley.

Challinor told https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk: “Mason is a top player who I’ve worked with before, he was very unlucky with an arm injury when we had him at Fylde, he didn’t get the opportunity to show what he can do but I am excited for him. He is a physical lad who will hold the ball up well and link with other players and that’s exactly something you need in this league”.
