The 26-year-old left-back joined York in October 2017 from National League North rivals Darlington.

He began his career with the Quakers before spending three years with his home-town club Sunderland.

He moved to Blackpool in January 2015 and captained the side in the Championship.

Released following Blackpool's relegation, he returned to his native north-east to play for Ebac Northern League side Shildon before starting a second spell at Darlington.

Capped 3 times by the England C team, he enjoyed a successful 2019/20 campaign with York, registering 16 assists from left-back and played in the semi-final play-off game for the end of the season.
