The 22-year-old made 31 appearances for the U`s in all competitions, including League One and League Two.

Chelmsford-born James spent time out on loan with Maidstone United and Welling United for the 2019/20 season.

He made 10 appearances for the Wings, scoring 2 goals and featured primarily as a right wing-back.

He initially joined Chelmsford in January 2018 on loan and made his debut in the 2-0 win against Chippenham Town.

He made 6 appearances before injury cut his season short.

The versatile defender can play centre-back, right-back and central midfield.

Clarets boss Robbie Simpson told https://www.chelmsfordcityfc.com: "Cameron is a local lad and really bought into the Clarets10 vision when I spoke to him.

"He still has great desire to be a professional footballer in the football league which he firmly believes he can achieve by putting in performances for the Clarets each week. I delighted to have him on board”.
