Defender Jeremy Arthur joins the Blues from Southern League Premier Division South side Metropolitan Police.

The 22-year-old signed for the Met in the summer of 2017 after being released by Queens Park Rangers.

His performances for the Met soon attracted attention and he trialled with then-League One Walsall in February 2018.

He helped the Met to win the Southern South play-off final and promotion to the Southern Premier South.

The experienced forward Darelle Russell has also arrived at Grays.

The 30-year-old was on the books at Vanarama National League South outfit Braintree Town, who he joined in February 2020 following a third spell with Isthmian South Central side Waltham Abbey.

He had been a consistent goalscorer throughout his spells with the Abbotts which began in 2013.

He has also played for Barking, Cheshunt, Harrow Borough, Billericay Town, Arlesey Town, AFC Hayes, Haringey Borough and Antigua Barracuda.

The third new arrival in a busy summer to date for manager Jim Cooper is local Essex defender Pat Ahern (pictured).

He broke into Grays` league rivals Witham Town`s first team set up in the 2018 pre-season after stepping up from the reserves and hasn't looked back since.

Strong, quick and solid, he can play anywhere along the back line and can also be dangerous at set-pieces in the opposition box as well.

Was previously with Brentwood Town.
