Experienced
striker Mitch Bryant and centre-back Tony Whitehead are the latest to join Andy
Welsh`s squad.
Twenty-nine-year-old
Bryant joins from Cymru North side Colwyn Bay where he was their top scorer
with 14 goals in 2019/20, also making 12 assists.
A
product of the Manchester United academy, he signed his first professional contract
with Reading in 2008, where he was loaned out to Basingstoke Town, then in the
Conference South, and achieved the rare feat of scoring a double hat-trick
against Weymouth.
He
also had spells at Gloucester City, Hungerford Town, Swindon Supermarine,
Cirencester Town, Cambridge City, Frome Town, Royston Town, and Hitchin Town,
before moving back to Manchester in 2014.
There
he had two spells with Mossley AFC and also spent time at Trafford and Clitheroe
before joining Runcorn Linnets in 2017 and then signing for Colwyn Bay last
summer.
Whitehead
is a 24-year-old center-back or midfielder who signed for Northern Premier
League Premier Division outfit Stalybridge Celtic in August 2019.
He
was plying his trade with Southern United in the Premiership in New Zealand
before returning to England and moving to Bower Fold.
Before
his spell in New Zealand, he started his career with Limerick, Ireland, side
Charlesville AFC and then Limerick where he played for 6 years, making almost
200 appearances. |
