Pilling left his boyhood club Tranmere Rovers earlier this summer after 17 years of service, having joined the Merseyside outfit aged just 6.

He made 3 senior appearances for Rovers and also spent time on loan with Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ashton United in 2018/19, playing 17 times.

Despite being born in England he has represented Wales at various youth levels and was voted best goalkeeper at the prestigious Toulon Tournament in 2017, despite his country’s exit at the group stages.

And Pilling is now hoping to replicate his international successes in the domestic game.

He told https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk: “I’ve come through from Wales’ under-15s to the under-21s and trained once with the senior squad.

“I definitely want to build on that in my club career and get as many appearances as I can.

“It feels strange coming somewhere else when Tranmere was on my doorstep and that was all I knew from a young age, but it’s exciting for me – it’s a change and I definitely needed that.

“I know Sam Slocombe’s been a top keeper for a long time but I’m here to push him all the way and give people something to think about”.
