Adams caught the eye playing as a triallist in Clitheroe`s recent 2-2 draw with FC United of Manchester at Shawbridge.

Adams started his career with Oldham Athletic before joining Bradford City’s youth set-up on a two-year scholarship.

The Latics then re-signed the frontman on a professional deal in the summer of 2019, also giving the teenager experience in the EFL Trophy.

Adams has also had loan spells with NPL Premier Division side Hyde United and in the Vanarama National League with Chorley and after being released by Oldham at the end of last season, was courted by a number of clubs before deciding to join the Blues to kick-start his career.

Clitheroe manager David Lynch moved quickly to secure the services of the 19-year-old, who made a Football League debut for Oldham Athletic last season.

Lynch told https://www.clitheroefc.co.uk: “It’s a massive signing for us.

“I think anyone who saw him play for us as a trialist on Monday can see he’s a young, exciting, hungry player – even though he wasn’t fully match fit.

“He does everything you want as a centre-forward. He’s strong, athletic, powerful, with a good attitude and technical ability.

“We’re so excited about it. It’s taken a bit of work, but we’ve got it over the line.

“I’ve said we need to strengthen in that area. We’re never people to sit still and I’m glad to get it done.

“We needed another one up there – an out-and-out number 9. You can’t go into the season with just two strikers, so I’m delighted”.

Also joining the Blues is striker Braulio Maieco.

The youngster had signed for NPL Premier Division side Matlock Town in July.

The Portuguese was with NPL Division One South East side Glossop North End in 2019/20.

The 6’2” winger or striker is quick and direct and joined the Hillmen having been on the books at Stalybridge Celtic and Macclesfield Town.
