Barcelos,
who originates from the Brazilian town of Dourados, had registered with
Isthmian League South Central Division side Bracknell Town earlier this summer
but announced his departure from Larges Lane last week, blaming work
commitments.
He
moved to the UK as a teenager and progressed through the ranks at Oxford City
and had spells with Banbury United, Grantham Town and Cirencester Town.
He
also had a season at ASD Santhia in Italian Serie D but is perhaps best known
for playing a key role in Didcot Town’s successful 2017/18 season when he
scored 27 league and cup goals and was also named managers` and players` player
of the year.
After
beginning the 2017/18 season at Didcot, he had brief spells with Moneyfields
and Stratford Town before returning to the Loop Meadow in February 2019.
He
joined Melksham`s league rivals Thatcham Town in June 2019 where he scored 24
times in 36 games with the Kingfishers looking set for the title prior to the
season’s early end due to COVID-19. |
