Giant Gerring is a powerful and commanding central defender who joined the White Tigers on a permanent basis from Torquay United during the summer of 2017 having previously made a big impression at the club on loan.

Gerring began his career with Plymouth Argyle, coming through the youth ranks before signing for Weymouth in 2010 where he became a regular at the heart of the Terras defence.

After signing for Kettering Town in 2012 only to have his contract voided as the club hit financial problems, he signed briefly for Cambridge City before moving on to Taunton Town and then Bideford.

He joined Hayes & Yeading United in January 2014 and made 17 appearances for the west London side, who were relegated on the last day of the season.

Short spells with Truro and back at Bideford followed before he was handed a chance at Torquay in 2016 and he played 35 games for the Gulls, scoring 2 goals before switching to Truro.

Billericay have also signed Scott Doe.

Doe joins `Ricay from National League side Boreham Wood, who he re-signed for in March 2018 from league rivals Dagenham & Redbridge.

Doe previously made over 40 appearances for the Wood, scoring 3 goals between 2015 and 2016.

An experienced defender, Doe began his career in the academy at Swindon Town but would make his first step into men’s football with Weymouth, where he won the supporters` player of the year award in his first season with the club.

From Weymouth, Doe would earn a move to then-Football League outfit Dagenham – his first of two spells with the club.

He would go on to make over 250 appearances for the Daggers, across a five-year spell with the club.

In June 2015, Doe rejected the offer of a new contract with Dagenham and joined recently-promoted Boreham Wood, playing a key role in their National League survival that campaign.

The now 29-year-old returned to Dagenham though following their relegation to the National League, where he would then spend a further season and a half.
