Martyrs Dip Into Welsh Pyramid for a Third Signing
Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Merthyr Town have announced the signing of Dion Molyneaux.

The young defender can play in a variety of positions across the back but predominantly at right back.

 

Molyneux moves to the Met Coaches Community Stadium from JD Cymru South club Cwmbran Celtic after one season at Celtic Park.

 

Originally on the books at SkyBet League Two side Newport County, he joined Cwmbran from league rivals Goytre United.

 

He becomes the Martyrs third signing to come directly from the Welsh system this summer to date.

 

Goalkeeper Kelland Absalom joined from Haverfordwest County, whilst Eli Phipps made the move from Barry Town United.

 

Manager Dean Clarke told https://www.merthyrtownfc.co.uk: “I’m delighted to welcome Dion to the club. He is a strong and athletic player who will be another great addition ahead to the 2020/21 season.

 

“I’m looking forward to working with him for the remainder of the season and seeing what he can add to the squad”.
