The 23-year-old midfielder is the second St Kitts & Nevis international player to arrive at Liberty Way after the club captured Harry Panayiotou early in the summer.
A Welsh-born central midfielder, Wharton started out with the Cardiff City under-23s.
He made two appearances for the Bluebirds first-team after impressing Malky Mackay, coming off the bench in FA Cup games against West Bromwich Albion and Macclesfield Town during the 2012/13 season.
Wharton joined National League South side Weston-super-Mare on loan in 2017 before signing for York City on a one-year deal, spending time on loan up the A5 at Tamworth.
Wharton becomes the latest addition to the new-look Boro' side under boss Nicky Eaden after the recent announcements of James Wesolowski and Joslain Mayebi joining the club. |
