John (pictured) is a striker who played in the youth teams of Premier League clubs Aston Villa
and Leicester City and represented England at under-16, 17, 18 and under-19
level.
The
Foxes loaned him out to Kettering Town in 2011, where he made 3 appearances for
the Poppies before making the move to Thailand.
Encouraged
by the Thai owners of Leicester, he went on to play for three teams in
Thailand, originally being signed for an 18-month deal by Muangthong United – a
Bangkok side that had just won the country’s premier league.
But
before making any appearances he was loaned to Suphanburi – a team in a rural
area to the north of the Thai capital playing in the Thai division one.
He
spent a brief stint on loan to TTM – the Thailand Tobacco Monopoly football
club, formed in 1963 by cigarette factory workers and given the nickname the `Cigarette
Smokers`.
His
next stop was Nonthaburi, where he made 28 appearances and scored six goals
before he decided to head back home in 2014.
Back
in England he signed for Corby Town for a few months before moving to Nuneaton
Town in July 2014, where he managed one goal in 12 appearances.
That
year also saw him being called up by Antigua & Barbuda to make his
international debut in October 2014 in a match against St Lucia ahead of the
Caribbean Cup.
Come
the beginning of 2015 he was on the move again, heading to Slovenia to play for
NK Domžale.
He
only made two appearances and then in October 2017 he signed for United
Counties League side Harrowby United and made his debut away to Rugby Town.
In
February 2018 he began his next adventure in the Far East, joining Phnom Penh
Crown FC with the goal of helping them get back to the top of the league.
The
team has won the Cambodian League six times in the past, with the last win in
2015.
The
Greenbacks have also signed Sam Walton.
Walton
has come to the Oval after playing for Southern Premier Division Central side
Tamworth last season.
He
is a centre-back who can also list Coventry City and Derby County amongst his
former clubs. |
