Bond Becomes a Gladiator
Matlock Town have signed the vastly experienced midfielder Andrew Bond, who will make his debut in the Gladiators’ opening league match of the season at Bamber Bridge today.

The 34-year-old joins from Vanarama National League North side York City, who he signed for in June 2019 from National League side AFC Fylde.

 

He had joined the Coasters in June 2016 having spent part of the previous season at Lancashire rivals Chorley.

 

A former England C international, he has plenty of Football League experience having made over 100 appearances for Colchester United and for the likes of Crewe Alexandra, Bristol Rovers, Stevenage and Crawley Town.

 

A versatile player, he can play in defence or in his preferred position as a central midfielder.
