Wingate Sign Former Bees Favourite

Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division club Wingate & Finchley brought in two new players ahead of Saturday`s opening game of the 2020/21 season.

The North London outfit signed the versatile Mauro Vilhete and goalkeeper Myles Roberts.

Vilhete joins Wingate from Vanarama National League neighbours Barnet, where he had been released at the end of the truncated 2019/20 campaign, having scored 22 goals in 227 games across eleven seasons with the Bees.

The 27-year-old Portuguese playmaker graduated from Barnet`s youth academy in 2010.

He also had loan spells at Hendon and three separate temporary periods with Boreham Wood.

Roberts joins Wingate on a month`s loan from SkyBet Championship side Watford.

The 18-year-old signed for the Hornets in January 2020 from Championship side Reading on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

He had been with the Royals since 2017, progressing through the under-18s, and is a member of Watford`s under-23 squad.
