The Whites have announced Matt Wilson has signed on a two-year contract.
Wilson joins from newly-promoted AFC Mansfield, one of United`s forthcoming opponents in the new season.
His previous clubs include Alfreton Town, Boston United, Guiseley AFC, North Ferriby United and Gainsborough Trinity.
Wilson can play in defence or midfield and was AFC Mansfield’s captain last season and was also the captain of North Ferriby’s 2015 Buildbase FA Trophy-winning side, beating Wrexham on penalties.
Wilkinson told his club`s website: “Matt is a great signing for the club. He’s a player with great pedigree and a real winner.
“He has achieved an awful lot in the game already but is still very hungry to win things.
“I’ve added another leader to the squad who’s also a big character in the dressing room and his on the field experience will be invaluable to the club.
“Last season we struggled to keep clean sheets and too often we were easy to play against.
“Towards the end of the season we nearly sorted that out, but still didn’t keep enough clean sheets.
“Matt joining us is a very good and positive addition”. |
