....Parramore, has had a very busy summer and has announced seven new signings and several re-signings from last season`s squad.

 

Goalkeeper Phil Barnes, midfielder or defender Lee Hill, midfielder Rob Chipps, wide player Cameron Rigby, midfielder or forward Jake Currie and strikers Alec Denton and Ollie Fearon have all joined the Ambers.

 

Barnes `hung up his gloves` midway through last season whilst with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Matlock Town.

 

Barnes, a fans favourite, was named as both fans and players’ player of the year in 2016/17 after signing from local rivals Buxton in the summer of 2016.

 

The former Blackpool, Rotherham United, Sheffield United and Grimsby Town stopper helped Matlock enjoy excellent FA Cup and Trophy runs, challenge for the end of season play-offs and win the Derbyshire Senior Cup.

 

As well as the Gladiators, the 39-year-old has also seen service with Gainsborough Trinity, Alfreton Town, Harrogate Town and Buxton.

 

Hill is very versatile and can operate across the midfield or at centre-half predominately.

 

He has played for AFC Emley, Eccleshill United, Handsworth, Staveley Miners Welfare, Parkgate and more recently Worksop Town.

 

Chipps is a holding midfielder who joins following a second spell with Pickering Town.

 

He left the Pikes in 2016/17 due to work commitments.

 

Rigby is a pacey left winger who is confident on the ball.

 

Originally with Morecambe, he joins the Ambers from Maltby Main having returned following spells with Gainsborough Trinity and Frickley Athletic.

 

Currie signs from Hallam FC, where he was in his second spell, having re-joined from Worksop in December 2017.

 

He was previously with Shirebrook Town.

 

Denton is a talented forward who can create and score goals.

 

He was originally with Rotherham United where he made two League appearances, making his professional debut for the Millers in a 1–1 draw with Northampton Town.

 

He went on to have spells with Stocksbridge Park Steels, Clipstone, Sheffield FC and returns for a second spell with Parramore from Worksop.

 

Fearon left newly-promoted AFC Mansfield at the end of last season after two successful years with them.

 

His other former clubs include Penistone Church and Worsbrough Bridge.

 

The following players have put pen-to-paper to re-sign for the forthcoming season the the Ambers - Ollie Yates, Stuart Ludlam, Jamie Green, Ozzy Radford, Lee Cooksey, Steven Istead, James Ashmore, Josh Hemmingway, Jed Phillips, Alex Rippon, Jordan Turner and top marksman Jon Froggatt.
