Wood
can play wide on both sides or as a number 10 and is highly thought of at Kingfield.
The
21-year-old joined the Cards in the summer from Isthmian League South Central Division
side Bedfont Sports, where he had been since October 2019.
He
started out at AFC Wimbledon where he had been from the age of 13 and then signed
for Walton Casuals in the summer of 2018 and made 31 appearances, scoring once,
and also impressed whilst on loan with Molesey and Herne Bay – so much so that
he was offered trials by Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth earlier in 2019.
Meanwhile,
Boro have released experienced midfielder David Fitzpatrick (pictured).
The
25-year-old joined the club in January 2020 from league rivals Walton Casuals
having played League football with AFC Wimbledon after starting out at Queens
Park Rangers.
Manager
Spencer Day told http://www.farnboroughfc.co.uk: “It just hasn’t worked out
with Fitz this season and as one of our senior players we can’t afford to have
him on the bench.
“He’s
been a pleasure to be around the brief time he’s been here and I’m sure he will
have no difficulty in finding a new club and we wish him all the very best”. |
